The mantra of the Six Mantras, or Om Mani Padme Hum, is deeply rooted in Tibetan Buddhism (Vajrayana tradition). It is the mantra of the Bodhisattva of Compassion, Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara). It is recited, chanted, or written on objects, prayer wheels, or jewelry, as a spiritual practice to purify obstacles and develop selfless love towards all living beings. It is considered the essence of all wisdom.
